Irwin Witebsky has had a varied career as composer, arranger, conductor, pianist, organist, keyboardist and teacher. He has composed music for the stage, films, television, commercials, and record albums.

Irwin is a former conductor of the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera Company, Melodyland and Valley Music Theaters (Los Angeles), Circle Star Theatre (San Francisco), Sacramento Light Opera Company Music Circus, Valley Music Hall (Salt Lake City), Lyric Theatre (Oklahoma City), and the Oakland West/Sea Ranch Dinner Theaters (Fort Lauderdale, Florida).

He was conductor-arranger for many celebrities including Florence Henderson, Shari Lewis, Bobby Van, Elaine Joyce, the Four Preps, etc. He has appeared on the Tonight Show, the Merv Griffin Show, the Phil Donahue Show, etc., and at the Hollywood Bowl. In California he performed regularly as pianist at most of Beverly Hills' and Hollywood's finest restaurants, hotels and clubs, including the Bistro Garden, the Bistro, Chasen's, the Jockey Club, Jimmy's, the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, the Regency Club, the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel, Le Dome, George Hamilton's Club, Overstreet's, the Jerry Lewis Restaurant, and L'Ermitage Hotel. He was also music director of the La Coquille Club in Palm Beach, Florida and the Marco Polo Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.

He has scored the music for many Barry Ashton-Wolf Kochmann Productions throughout the world, including productions in Las Vegas, Miami Beach, Sweden, Puerto Rico, and Japan. He has also composed liturgical and sacred music.

He was pianist-arranger for the Freddy Martin orchestra at the Coconut Grove in Hollywood, and has appeared as pianist with other famous dance orchestras including Glenn Miller, Bob Crosby, Sammy Kaye, and Vaughn Monroe. He also played solo piano regularly at "high society" parties for such celebrities as Nancy Reagan, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Steve Allen, Tony Martin, Cyd Charisse, Ed McMahon, Mrs. Meredith Willson, Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon and Red Buttons.

In Los Angeles, he was a music instructor for the Beverly Hills Unified School District. He has conducted adult and children's choirs, played the organ and been music director in churches and synagogues throughout Southern California.

Irwin has recently moved to San Antonio from Los Angeles, and is already the pianist-organist at San Antonio's St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, pianist for the USAA Chorus & the San Antonio Lutheran Chorale, has been on the piano teaching faculty of the Alamo Music School and the Northside Music School. He is the official accompanist for the entire Southwest Independent School District, accompanies and arranges for many vocal, solo and ensemble artists and students in most school districts throughout the San Antonio area, and plays regularly at the Meson European Dining Restaurant as well as at many high society events, conventions, private parties, etc.

Privately Irwin teaches piano, organ, music theory, harmony, chords, counterpoint, conducting, ear training and song writing.
